About Us

Sandwell Homes Ltd is an ALMO (Arms Length Management Organisation) responsible for the management of approximately 32,000 properties owned by Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council.

We were assessed as a "Two Star organisation with prospects" by the Audit Commission following their inspection in 2005.We aim to achieve 3 Star status in 2008 and Decent Homes in 2010.

The value and impact of a vibrant Purchasing Section is recognised and the section, which is part of the Finance Directorate, has been both enlarged and the role expanded, during the last 2 years. We aim to work with our suppliers, forming sound business relationships with both parties aware of each other’s aims and objectives. We look to achieve Value for Money in all our dealings and encourage our suppliers to embrace our Equality, Diversity and Environmental policies. Where appropriate We require our suppliers to be both Constructionline and CHAS registered, We expect all suppliers to accept Purchase Orders by E mail and payment by BACS. Whenever possible We prefer our suppliers to provide 1 consolidated monthly invoice, preferably electronically, to cover all goods or services delivered during the month. Order and payment by Purchase Card is also an option.
